Why support the Catholic Children's Society?
All our work addresses the issues that prevent children from reaching their full physical, emotional and educational potential and which affect the well-being and stability of the family.
We draw inspiration from Christian values derived from the Gospels and the teaching of the Catholic Church. We recognise that many of these values are shared by those who are of other faiths and none. Our work helps to build stable and nurturing relationships in families where children and other members of the family are nourished and loved. This, together with our faith, is the golden thread which runs throughout the Society's past and which will be our guide into the future.
As a charity, we rely almost entirely on donations to support disadvantaged children and families-that's why we are so grateful for your help. Without the kindness and goodwill of our supporters, we would struggle to carry out our vital work. Because people like you care about others, we are able to help as many as 2,000 children and families in the Diocese of Westminster each year. Donations make it possible for children and families to overcome the ever demanding challenges they face from issues as wide ranging as poverty, illness, addiction, domestic violence, unemployment and debt.
The people that we reach out to are people just like us. Without realising it, you may even know them. They may be trying hard to cope with unemployment, bereavement, ill health or money worries. They may feel that they have no-one else to turn to. It is in those moments that the Society, on your behalf, offers support and friendship for as long as it is necessary.
Your support is essential to disadvantaged children and allows us to reach out to families who face an uncertain future.
